Enhancing organizational performance

  • Companies that promote a culture of inclusion score better on various components of organizational performance: Customer satisfaction +39%; Productivity +22%; Profitability +27%; Lower turnover -22%. (Gallup Workplace Studies)
  • Companies with three or more women in senior management score more highly on nine criteria of organizational excellence than companies with no women at the top. Performance increased significantly once a critical mass was attained – at least three women on management committees. (McKinsey)
  • Equal proportions of women and men on company teams offer the most innovation potential. The key drivers for innovative processes, such as the psychological safety of the team, the extent to which members are prepared to take risks and experiment, and general team efficiency, are positively influenced by having a 50:50 proportion of men and women on teams. A slight majority of women (60%) creates optimal conditions in relation to the self-confidence of the team. (London Business School [PDF])
